After graduating from Fairhaven High School, Armand attended Bridgewater State College and graduated with a teaching degree. He loved teaching because he loved kids and saw the hope and promise in each individual. He probably would have continued to teach but decided to pursue his strong desire to take up a career in radio and acting. He did Summer Stock at Tufts University. He was a disc jockey who went by the name of Chris Blake. He was a reporter and news director in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He was the overnight news reporter for KABC radio for a couple of years. Armand was a very highly regarded News Director for a couple of major stations in Washington D.C., but his passion was acting and he eventually gave up the “safe” life and headed to Hollywood.
Armand
was quite successful in Hollywood and had a long list of credits.
He worked in commercials, television, feature films, voice-overs and on
stage. He loved acting…and always received great reviews.
Among his credits were: Murder
She Wrote, Designing Women, L.A. Law, Dallas, Hunter, Days of Our Lives, General
Hospital and The Bold and The Beautiful. Keep
an eye out…you just might see him in a rerun.
Armand was married briefly when he lived in Fairhaven and later divorced. He had no children. Sadly, Armand passed away at age sixty-four on March 22, 2005. He had a good life…did most of the things he wanted to do. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
