Tony, I want to be the first to THANK YOU for all the effort, time, and hard work you put into putting FHS1958 on line. I probably will be the most appreciative as I lost my yearbook years ago and now I have a copy online to bring back great memories of friends and times from the past. Thanks again, maybe your efforts will bring some of us together again. Jerry....jerryrazon@aol.com

Dear Tony and Bob, Thank you both for putting this fabulous page together. It is great! Johnny and I live in Southington, CT, and are having a wonderful time. The old adage "Old friends are the best friends" still rings true for us. We were singing "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" yesterday, and remarked about how that reminds us of New Bedford at Christmas time years ago. Sweet memories. Our e-mail is Johnbmidge@cox.net We'd love to hear from old friends. Midge and John Bresnahan

Your site's fabulous! I wasn't far behind you. I graduated in 1960. My wife, Cindy (Howland) graduated in 1961. We never fail to drive by FHS whenever we're in Mass. We sometimes park and walk around the grounds. I even videotaped the school a few years ago. FHS was and is a very special place. Looking back, I wish I'd gotten to know the faculty better. No other group of people had such a profound and positive effect on me. No matter how many miles and years pass, Fairhaven and FHS still feel like home. Charles A. Hi Tony.......I realize that you won't know who the heck I am, but I was a member of FHS Class of 1960. We recently received a newsletter that was put together by Jane Morrill. In it there were several write-ups about classmates. One of them was from Sylvia Hales Fales. In it she mentioned that she and Alan had become friends with you and your wife. Anyway, your website was mentioned so I have spent the last hour looking through it. It is absolutely fantastic! I especially enjoyed browsing through the old class photos and seeing who I could recognize. I can't believe that almost everyone's name was remembered! And having music to browse by was a touch of genius. Thanks again for all your work. Suzanne Amaral Gonsalves...Class of 1960

Tony, my husaband was given his first on-air job in radio by Sonny Asselin.  I found your web site while researching information about Sonny on the web.  I've copy pasted a message he received from Sonny, Armand's last best friend he ever had.  Her name is Marcia Pine.  She said it was ok to give out her contact information.  She lives in Marina del Rey, Ca. Her phone is 310-305-8383.  From: CallieOB@aol.com Date: Tue Apr 12, 2005 12:18:14 PM US/Eastern To: chuckrich.mail@verizon.net Subject: Re: Phil Wood's letter to DCRTV.org on Sonny Asselin.  Oh, one other thing.  I'm having a small, informal, sea-side memorial picnic for him on April 23rd. If you have anything you'd like me to read or if you know anyone who might be in the area and would want to come, please let me know. And, it's okay to give out my contact info.

Hi Tony,

I'd say it's probably been 40 some odd years since we last laid eyes on each other.  I had to drop you a line after stumbling upon your excellent FHS'58 website. The picture of my old St. Mary's basketball team brought back lots of memories as did the various pictures of your class and others I knew in Fairhaven.

I'm still working and don't plan on retiring anytime soon. Reasons for that are simple....I have no handyman skills so I can't build or fix anything....I don't play golf or tennis so I'd just sit around and become an old man.  Instead working ....particularly in radio keeps me thinking and feeling young. I sometimes marvel at the fact that I go to every Patriots game, sit on the 50 yard line and get paid for it.  Needless to say the last few years have been great and I have 3 shiny Super Bowl rings to show for it.

I'll browse thru my old pictures one day and see if I can find some that might fit your "oldies" category.
In the meantime I will try to think of some member of the FHS Class of '56 who would be able to put together a similar site about my class.

Hope I didn't bore you with this windy dissertation but that's me...why use just 3 words when 33 will be more fun.

Hope all is well,
Gilly Santos

On February 24, 2006 Ed Oliveira passed away in Venice, Florida. You will remember him as Mr. Oliveira, the business teacher (accounting) at FHS. He was married to Diana Cabral, who taught typing.  Most recently, Mrs. Downing, wife of former Principal Chester Downing, celebrated her 100th birthday!

Hi Tony,

Iím not sure you remember meóI was Jeanie Alden back in class of í58.  I liked the website and was sorry to learn that so many of my former classmates have died.

My husband and I do plan to come to the 50th reunion and Iíll hope to recognize people.  I have yet to be able to make one.  Now that we are both retired, we have more free time.

My husband, Walt, and I live in McCormick, SC in a beautiful lakeside, golfing community called Savannah Lakes.  He started the Lutheran Church here and is a retired Lutheran Pastor.  We have only been married 6 years. He was a widower and I was single, living on St. Simons Island, Georgia, where I worked as an Executive with Rich Products Corporation.   My oldest sister, who lives here, had tried to get us together for four years, but we were both too busy to do anything about it.   When we finally did meet, we were married two months later; I retired from my job six months after that; and Walt retired from full time ministry in 2004.  We have traveled around the world non stop since then, and enjoy spending as much time as possible with our six children  (he has 4; I have 2), 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

I look forward to catching up with everyone in June.  Thanks for doing the website.

 Cheers!

Mr. Oliveira,

Wanted to say thank you for your web site on the class of 1958. My self and a few members of the FHS class of 76 came together after the passing of a classmate and thought up of an idea to help out our class get in touch and stay in touch. Somehow I stumbled upon your site. Your site is well constructed and nicely laid out. I thank you for the time and effort. The Class of 1958 site gave us some good working concepts. Our class site went up in December of 2007 and continues to grow with our classmates beginning to send in information, email addresses and photos of our years at FHS. A senior class usually leads the way for the underclassmen, so thank you Mr. Oliveira.

Tony, THANK YOU for all the hard work in creating and maintaining this wonderful site!

Having been out West for a spell, it is great to see the 'old' faces and hear how folks are doing.
Having been both in the Class of '58 and '59 - there are so many more people I struggle to remember.
The weekly Wednesday (9 AM) breakfasts at Ray's in North Fairhaven are also another wonderful event.

Hi Tony,

I happened to come across information and a picture of my class when I was 9 years old.  Unfortunately, I was not in the class that day.  I have always wanted to connect with my classmates.  Always wondered what became of them.  I am Nancy Oliver.  I have two sisters and a brother.  Leah Oliver, Mary Oliver and Manuel Oliver.  I am still practicing cosmetology and as hobbies I paint and make dolls.  Left Fairhaven at sixteen so never graduated but got my GED later.  I am in Santa Fe, NM.  Is there a way you can add me to the list of e-mail addresses?  I am listed on Facebook as Nancy Oliveira.  Picture also.  My email address is nanol@juno.com
